@pandora_parrot Where the individual can also make an impact IMHO is by carrying the message through society. Talking to friends, families, enemies. Exponential information spread. Get people on board doing the right thing.

What we did not stop with during lockdowns was eating meat and dairy products en masse. Huge margins right there. Transportation isn't the whole picture. Probably transportation just supplying the meat production chain is as much worth in co2 emissions as we just saved during lockdown by not commuting. Plus, all the fodder causes emissions, as does deforestation for it all.

I believe this is where the attitude has to change: "no, you don't have a right on your Wednesday afternoon t-bone steak for f**** sake.". And no, you shouldn't take your Porsche to the steak house either. If everyone starts living a bit more humbly we have a chance (hopefully).

@chris While I mostly agree with you, I think the important thing is to be working towards political change. Small drops in the bucket from individuals aren't enough to change the climate. We need government action on electricity production, manufacturing, meat production, etc. And it's probably gonna fundamentally change our world.
