I definitely have a weird relationship to the concept of a "scene." I don't know that I really participate in "scenes" around anything. You know... communities.
Like, people talk about being part of the "Go/Baduk scene" . or part of the EDM scene or part of the aviation scene and like...
I typically do things on my own. I learn about what others are doing through Youtube or articles or whatever. I share what I do with people who are typically not part of any of those scenes.
Scenes can provide a population of people with common interests to sift through looking for those folks you get along with. Of course, it helps if the scene selects for people who already meet some of your criteria. But just having a place to go where there are people you can talk to can be a valuable start.
