Can fontconfig replace a glyph that's missing in a font, with a different glyph from the same font?

it replaces it with a glyph from the next font in the order set

unless you're already at the default font and it's missing there, then you're out of luck

@meena It can do a lot more than just that though. Maybe even this with the right XML invocation.

@meena You can, for example, remove individual glyphs or ranges of them from a matching font.
